Frequently Asked Questions
How are incidents created?
Incidents are automatically created when a monitored site transitions from UP to DOWN. The system captures the root cause, assigns severity, and begins tracking duration. Manual incidents can also be created from the dashboard.
Can I create manual incidents?
Yes. From the Incidents dashboard, you can manually create incidents with custom titles, descriptions, impact levels, and linked sites. Manual incidents are useful for planned maintenance or issues detected outside of automated monitoring.
How does auto-resolve work?
When a site transitions back from DOWN to UP, the linked incident is automatically marked as resolved. The system calculates total downtime duration and records the resolution timestamp. Updates and timeline entries are preserved for post-mortem analysis.
